The Winning Mindset, co-directed by McDonogh Middle School teachers Brian Engel and Mark Spencer, is a dynamic camp focused on developing key leadership principles such as discipline, accountability, perseverance, resiliency, and collaboration. Through interactive activities like the balloon tower challenge, participants will practice goal-setting, teamwork, and resource management. Outdoor games such as kickball and capture the flag provide hands-on opportunities to apply these principles in real-time, testing campers' ability to collaborate and think strategically under pressure.

The camp emphasizes the importance of overcoming setbacks, teaching participants to turn challenges into learning opportunities. Campers will also gain insights into their personal strengths and weaknesses, enhancing self-awareness and growth. By fostering a supportive, team-based environment, this course encourages participants to hold themselves and others accountable. By the end, campers will be equipped with the leadership skills to succeed in any team setting, both in and out of the classroom.
