Character and Service - Middle School - McDonogh School

Character and Service

The Middle School is committed to building strong character among students by emphasizing the McDonogh Character Compass values of respect, responsibility, honesty, kindness, and service. Students are also expected to uphold the Middle School Honor Code that states, “I will not lie, cheat, or steal. I will respect myself and others.”

Service opportunities abound in Middle School through organized projects that benefit both local and global communities. From writing notes of encouragement to members of the military, hospitalized patients, or anyone needing a kind word and participating in a walk to raise funds for rainwater tanks to be installed at schools in Uganda to working to end hunger by sponsoring food drives, delivering handmade casseroles to nearby soup kitchens, and packing more than 30,000 nutritious meals for children in Haiti, our Middle School students are working to make a difference.
