McDonogh’s arts program provides transformational educational experiences where students develop creative and imaginative problem-solving skills at the highest level. Our PK-12 curricula embraces the unique ways in which the visual and performing arts—in addition to their own intrinsic value—capture and shape ideas from all the major areas of study.
Again and again, our students experience “aha!” moments when they discover the interconnectedness of things. We believe art is an essential aspect of a liberal arts education providing opportunities for students to find and communicate their unique artistic voice through a variety of media. Our program offers a wide range of accessible and diverse courses in four main areas—-dance, music, theatre, and visual art. All students, no matter their experience, have the opportunity to engage deeply with the arts and learn the joy of creation and expression.
