Fashion Show Lights Up the Runway

Upper School fashion students lit up the runway on Monday, May 5, during the annual McDonogh Fashion Show, debuting collections full of bold ideas and personal flair. From experimental paper creations to cohesive themed collections, the evening celebrated both creative expression and technical growth.

The show featured work from three levels of fashion design classes: Fashion & Fibers I, Honors Fashion & Fibers II, and Advanced Senior Art Capstone. Each course builds upon the last, guiding students through increasingly complex design challenges.

Fashion & Fibers I students explored the fundamentals of garment design through imaginative paper dresses and sewn pieces, including shirts, cardigans, pants, skirts, and dresses.

Honors Fashion & Fibers II took things up a notch, with students constructing more advanced pieces. They made different types of bodices, corsets, skirts, dresses and jackets.

The Advanced Senior Art Capstone students brought it all together, presenting full collections that reflected individual themes and artistic vision. From concept to construction, each senior curated a cohesive line and styled their looks for the runway.

Models—fellow classmates and friends—brought the garments to life on a runway set up in the dining hall, transformed for one night into a celebration of their hard work and collaboration.
