Summer Camps

Fun, friendship, adventure, and discovery await children of all ages on our beautiful 800-acre campus! McDonogh Summer Programs offers over 80 traditional day camps, sports clinics, arts and educational programs, as well as overnight camps. 

For over 80 years, McDonogh has been offering quality summer programs, complete with stables and indoor/outdoor riding rings, three fully equipped playground areas, 20 tennis courts, two fishing ponds, and extensive outdoor athletic fields. Our outdoor adventure complex includes a state-of-the-art rock-climbing tower and a high and low ropes course with a team building development component. Indoor facilities include a 54,000-square-foot field house with seven basketball courts, an aquatic center that includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, two indoor batting ranges, a wellness center, and a wrestling room. Our fine arts center boasts an elegant 588-seat theatre with modern stage, lighting, and sound; a black box theatre; music room; and set design room. The McDonogh campus also includes multiple computer labs, art rooms, classrooms, and dormitory space. The Edward St. John Student Center features two dining halls as well as a lecture hall with stage, fine arts and dance facilities, the infirmary, offices, and meeting rooms.

The staff of McDonogh Summer Programs is comprised of experienced and caring personnel dedicated to offering opportunities for our campers to achieve their highest potential. We are committed to quality and professionalism in everything we do. Our camps are conducted on the safe and serene grounds of the McDonogh School, with around-the-clock security.

Before and After Care

A Before and After Care Program is available for an additional fee for all full-day camper. The cost for Before Care is $50/week and for After Care the cost is $75/week. Children may be dropped off in the Before Care Program between 7:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. and picked up from the After Care Program any time between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Participants will engage in a variety of activities including games, sports, crafts, and outdoor programs.

Transportation

McDonogh’s well-maintained bus fleet will provide transportation to and from community stops in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, and Howard Counties. There is no extra charge for transportation for full-day campers. Transportation applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis due to the limited number of seats on each bus.

BUS STOPS

Please note that these stops and times are tentative and subject to change. You can find out the times and exact locations of each stop by clicking on the purple balloon. Final transportation letters will be emailed to each family approximately two weeks prior to the start of camp.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING BUSES HAVE AT LEAST ONE WEEK THAT IS FULL SO YOU WILL NOT SEE THEM LISTED ON THE ONLINE REGISTRATION SITE. YOU MAY STILL REGISTER FOR THAT BUS FOR SPECIFIC WEEKS BY CONTACTING THE CAMP OFFICE AT 443-544-7100.

Lunch

All full-day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on-campus day campers receive lunch at no extra charge. The nutritious meals are carefully planned and prepared by our experienced food service staff. View the Sage Dining Menu and be certain to click on the dropdown in the top-left corner for the summer menu.

Discounts

A 5% discount per child is offered to families who have two or more children enrolled in any of the following camps: Camp Red Feather, Camp Red Eagle, Senior Camp, Outdoor Adventure, The All Sports Camp (not to be confused with individual week sports camps), and the McDonogh Tennis Camp. This discount applies only to the programs listed above and children must be enrolled for an entire session/week.

EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT

  • The discount applies to the following camps: Camp Red Feather, Camp Red Eagle, Senior Camp, Outdoor Adventure Camp, The All Sports Camp (not to be confused with individual week sports camps), and the McDonogh Tennis Camp.
  • A 10% discount if you register your child prior to January 31, 2018.
  • A 5% discount if you register your child prior to February 28, 2018.
  • The child must be enrolled for an entire session to receive the discount.

MULTI-SIBLING DISCOUNT

  • The discount applies to the following camps: Camp Red Feather, Camp Red Eagle, Senior Camp, Outdoor Adventure Camp, The All Sports Camp (not to be confused with individual week sports camps), and the McDonogh Tennis Camp.
  • A 5% discount per child is offered to families who have two or more children enrolled.
  • The child must be enrolled for an entire session to receive the discount.

BRING A FRIEND TO CAMP AND GET A 10% DISCOUNT!

  • Returning campers are eligible for a 10% discount for each new camper they refer who registers for Camp Red Feather, Camp Red Eagle, Senior Camp, Outdoor Adventure Camp, and The All Sports Camp (not to be confused with individual week sports camps). A new camper is defined as a child who has never attended any of our summer programs and is not a sibling of a returning child.
  • The discount for a returning camper can only be applied for the aforementioned five programs. Returning campers will not receive the discount for any programs they may enroll in that are not one of the five listed above.
  • The discount is dependent on the new family declaring which family referred them on the initial online registration. They may do so by writing the referral family’s name in the comments section on the online registration form.
  • For the returning camper to receive the 10% discount, the new camper must be enrolled in one of the five aforementioned programs for at least the equal number of weeks as the returning child. For example, if the returning camper is signed up for three weeks of Camp Red Eagle, the new camper must be signed up for at least three weeks of one of the five aforementioned programs.

Registration Information

Register for McDonogh Summer Camps online using our digital forms beginning November 7, 2017. To begin the registration process, please read the steps listed below to ensure an easy registration process. 

REGISTRATION WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR ALL OF OUR CAMPS THROUGH THE LAST DAY OF CAMP!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A $300 deposit is due at the time of registration. If the program tuition is less than $300, then full payment is due at the time of registration. Final payment is due no later than May 1, 2018. If you register after May 1, 2018 payment in full may be required. If you have to cancel a camp for ANY reason before June 1, 2018, you will receive a refund of payment, less a $300 administrative fee per child. There are no refunds for any reason after May 31, 2018. Also, no refunds will be offered if camp is closed due to "Acts of God" such as a tornado, power outage, etc. If you switch to a different program within McDonogh Summer Programs, there will be a $100 administrative fee. There will be a $50 fee for all returned checks. Transportation is available on a first come, first served basis. McDonogh Summer Camps will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.

  • To create a new account or access an existing account, go to our Online Registration Site.
  • If you used our online system last year, you will NOT need to create a new account. Simply click on the link and enter your user name. All information from previous years will carry over.
  • Make sure you fill out a registration form for each child.
  • Choose your own bus route. After you select YES for transportation, you will be able to choose your bus stop. There will be a list of all the bus stops available on your screen. If you do not need transportation, simply click the NO button to continue. Due to the limited number of spots on each bus, transportation can not be guaranteed after May 18, 2018 for safety and scheduling reasons. If you have a special request for bus service, please contact our Transportation Department at 443-544-7090.
  • If you need to make changes to your initial registration in the future, whether it be changing or canceling a program, please contact McDonogh Summer Programs at summer@mcdonogh.org.
  • You may return to the site to make future payments online. Simply log in and follow directions on how to make additional payments.
