Dawson Library - Lower School - McDonogh School

Dawson Library

Bright and inviting, the Lower School Dawson Library is alive each day with activity, learning, and laughter. All grade levels have regularly scheduled weekly class time and the library is available for book exchange at any time. Students find joy in the Lower School library by choosing books, listening to stories, exploring topics in great depth, and discovering new interests.

Interdisciplinary library instruction aligns with the Lower School curriculum, creating a foundation of literacy that extends beyond the elementary years. Librarians teach students to identify and evaluate information and to develop critical awareness and problem-solving skills.
