McDonogh to Welcome Former Governor Larry Hogan
McDonogh School will welcome former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan for a conversation — Leadership Beyond Office — on Tuesday, October 20, from 7:00–8:30 p.m. in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre.
The program, presented in partnership with the Hogan Institute at Washington College, will focus on leadership, respect, and the discipline to work with people who see things differently in pursuit of the common good.
"We are delighted to welcome Governor Hogan," says Head of School Dave Farace '87. "His visit dovetails with our belief that a LifeReady education should teach students how to think, not what to think. As such, our students become critical thinkers who can form, test, and revise their ideas — for themselves, and in the service of others.”
Since its founding, Washington College has been committed to preparing citizen leaders for the demands of democratic life. The Hogan Institute advances that mission by preparing students to engage constructively across differences, serve the public good, and strengthen the institutions that sustain democracy.
McDonogh shares that commitment. Through the School's Greatest Good McDonogh initiative, students develop an understanding of the ways in which service, philanthropy, and civic engagement support a healthy society.
