Amanda Saber Named Varsity Volleyball Head Coach

McDonogh Athletic Director Jeff Parsons announced the appointment of Amanda Saber as the School’s new Varsity Volleyball Head Coach in a Wednesday, February 18 letter to volleyball families.

Currently in her second year at McDonogh as an Upper School English teacher, Saber brings extensive experience to her new role. Before joining the McDonogh Family, she spent 10 seasons coaching volleyball at Marriotts Ridge High School in Howard County. During her nine-year tenure as the school's varsity head coach, Marriotts Ridge won three regional championships and was a 3A State runner-up. After stepping away from coaching for a few years to start a family, Saber says she is eager to return to the game she loves. As a collegiate athlete, she competed in volleyball for four years at West Virginia Wesleyan.

“Coach Saber is already a valued member of our School community, and I'm excited to see her leadership extend to the volleyball program,” said Parsons. “She is enthusiastic about getting started with our student-athletes and building on the strong foundation of McDonogh volleyball.”
