Battle O' Baltimore Robots Are Back

McDonogh's robotics team (4505) and their robot, Wallace will take on teams from more than 35 area schools this weekend in the 11th Annual Battle O' Baltimore Robotics Competition on Saturday, September 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Athletic Center. The off-season FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics competition is a great opportunity for students in Lower, Middle, and Upper School to witness up close the teamwork and excitement of robotics.

Spectators are welcome to drop in or stay all day and watch students guide their robots in playing FIRST® STEAMWORKS, the 2017 FIRST Robotics game. In this game, two adventure clubs from an era in which technology relied on steam power, prepare their airships for the ultimate long distance race. Visit the “pits” and see the teams work on their robots. (Please note: closed toe shoes are required in the “pits.”)

Admission to the Battle O' Baltimore is free and concessions will be sold throughout the day to benefit McDonogh's robotics team. Visit the Battle O’ Baltimore website for more information.
