Vocal Residency Concert on Saturday

The Fifth Annual McDonogh Vocal Residency concert on Saturday, November 19 will feature resident artist and tenor Justin John Moniz, soprano and guest alumnus Jamie Balter ’11, and members of McDonogh’s Concert Choir. According to his biography, Moniz a member of Oberlin Conservatory and winner of the 2015 American Prize in Voice – Chicago Musical Theatre Award, has been thrilling audiences in opera houses, theaters, and concert halls across the nation. His unique style and versatility have afforded him an active career in opera, concert, and musical theatre, having sung over 50 roles to date.

The concert will feature Moniz performing a solo repertoire as well as shared pieces with Balter and students from McDonogh’s Concert Choir. The concert, which begins at 8:00 p.m. in the Ceres M. The McDonogh Vocal Arts Residency is an annual musical immersion program for students in Upper School, led by a prominent figure in classical vocal music .
