The First-Ever Lifer Pin Ceremony

Is there a word for spending your entire school career in one place, growing up within the same community from the time you were in kindergarten until the moment you walk across the graduation stage?

At McDonogh, the word is Lifer. And on the evening of Tuesday, March 24, for the first time ever, it came with a pin.

The inaugural Lifer Pin Ceremony marks a new McDonogh tradition, one created to formally celebrate seniors who have called this community home since the very beginning. The pin was the idea of Kali Rahman '26, who believed this group deserved to be recognized. The design reflects the journey: the McDonogh Eagle at the center, encircled by a braid representing all three divisions woven into one continuous path.

Afterward, the seniors had a reception with their families to celebrate—not just a pin, but a lifetime at McDonogh.
