Second and Fourth Graders Share Hope

During the week of January 19, second and fourth graders had the opportunity to share messages of hope with cancer patients and their families through a meaningful partnership with The Red Devils and The Ronald McDonald House. After learning about the missions of these organizations, students worked together to craft heartfelt poetry filled with encouragement, empathy, and support. Later in the week, they collaborated to create fleece blankets while reflecting on how small acts of kindness can offer comfort during difficult moments.

The Blankets of Hope will be donated to The Ronald McDonald House, where they will provide warmth and care to families staying close to loved ones during treatment. Through this experience, students learned that hope can take many forms — a poem, a blanket, or simply the intention to help others — and that even at a young age, they have the power to make a meaningful difference.
