35th Annual Cardboard Boat Race
The 35th annual Cardboard Boat Race made waves on Friday, May 23, as seven hand-built vessels took to the duck pond in front of a lively crowd. Designed and constructed by teams of upper schoolers, the boats showcased weeks of planning, problem-solving, and ambition.
Racers battled buoyancy and balance across three heats, cheered on by classmates, teachers, and parents. Some boats glided with surprising speed while others met a soggier fate.
The festivities wrapped up at the Fader Innovation Center with the traditional awards ceremony. Congratulations to every participant, and special recognition to the creators of Penguin Boat, winners of this year’s BOB (Best Overall Boat) trophy!
