Visiting Artist Teaches the Art of Felting
Second graders learned the centuries-old art form of felting from visiting artist Katherine Dilworth, whose own work is on display in the Tuttle Gallery through February 17. Working with Dilworth during the week of January 23, the young artists combined their recent study of the Chesapeake Bay with their new "expertise" to create felt murals depicting the plants and animals of the region. Dwelling, the exhibit of Dilworth's landscape photography on fabric, captures how a place feels, not just how it looks.
