Roots Farm is a living classroom that stimulates growth and learning for students of all ages. Through the farm, students learn valuable lessons about sustainability, environmental impact, food cultivation, and the life cycles of plants and animals. Just as important as Roots’ mission to educate is the fact that the farm sparks so much joy for McDonogh students.
First graders experienced some good old-fashioned fall fun at Roots on Tuesday, October 6. They picked pumpkins, made and tasted apple cider, toured the farm, explored a corn maze, and played farm games. In a year where so many things are new and different, maintaining fun traditions that help students make the connection between joy and learning is essential.
