Bay Trip - Traditions - McDonogh School

Bay Trip

Eighth graders experience the wonders of the Chesapeake Bay on the annual trip with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to Fox Island, Port Isobel, and the Karen Noonan Environmental Education Center. The signature Middle School event teaches students about the ecology and economics of the Chesapeake and provides opportunities for them to learn, work, and play together as a team. Over the three days on the bay in mid-October, eighth graders step out of their comfort zones and fish, crab, race through a mud maze, take hikes at night by the light of the moon, and prepare and clean up meals.
