After 33 years of dedicated service to McDonogh School, Beverly Markline, McDonogh’s beloved Admissions Office Manager, is retiring.

Ms. Markline joined the Admissions Office in the spring of 1992 and, during her time, has worked alongside three Heads of School and seven different Admissions Directors. Her contributions to the Admissions Office have been immeasurable. She is the engine that drives the operation. 

Over the years, she has carefully entered more than 15,000 applications into our computer system, fielded hundreds of phone calls, and sent thousands of reminder emails—all while keeping her colleagues on task and on time. Her tireless work ethic, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment have made her an invaluable member of the Admissions Team. 

Her genuine warmth and positive demeanor put hundreds of nervous shadow day guests at ease. In her more than three decades at McDonogh, you can be sure Mrs. Markline has lots of stories to tell. Ask her about her work in the late 1990s with a young educator, Dave Farace, who would later become our Head of School, or the time a student crawled under the couch to avoid some tough interview questions!

Bev, as you embark on your next chapter, please accept our deepest gratitude for your years of dedication, kindness, and unwavering support. We wish you nothing but happiness in your well-earned retirement.
