David Holland '90 - Alumni - McDonogh School

David Holland '90

David Holland ’90 holds a deep love for McDonogh. Every time he sets foot on campus, he is overwhelmed with deep pride and fond memories. His experiences have helped shape him into the person he is today, and for that he is grateful. This appreciation has inspired him to become active in the alumni community. “I want to give back, connect with fellow alumni and current students, and keep the torch of excellence burning for generations to come,” he says.

David’s engagement with the school has intensified over the years. He is actively involved with the Black Alumni Committee and was a member of his 30th Reunion Committee, helping to raise funds for his class gift effort. Most recently, he was elected to the Alumni Board and will be co-chairing the Black Alumni Committee. He hopes to provide leadership and counsel to help McDonogh navigate its curriculum, culture, and core values to ensure all students of color have the opportunity to learn and grow.

“One of the big reasons for my surge in volunteerism is the formation of the Black Alumni Committee. It has connected me with so many of my fellow Black alumni and has been a great source of support. I hope to inspire other Black alumni to get involved with the Committee, to re-engage with the School—both in serving and giving and to collectively provide unrelenting support to current and future black students to ensure their experience at McDonogh is as fulfilling as it can possibly be.”
