NEW for Fall 2021! Creative Dance 1 is open to siblings of McDonogh School students who are at least 3 years of age by September 1. This class introduces children to the group class format and sparks innate creativity and joy in moving. Students are guided through exercises and activities designed to introduce basic movement/locomotive skills, improve flexibility, and stimulate rhythmic awareness and expressiveness. The curriculum is designed to capitalize on the increasing strength, coordination, and cognitive abilities of 3-year-old students; therefore, all students must be at least 3 years old by September 1. Additionally, students should be comfortable separating from their caregivers and participating constructively in a group class setting. The faculty member will use the first few classes to assess each child’s readiness for group dance instruction and will let caregivers know if any changes should be made. No previous dance experience required.
Students provide their own dance attire; visit www.peabody.jhu.edu/dance or contact Preparatory Dance for details: email@example.com or 667-208-6648. All students pay a $50 registration fee once per semester in addition to tuition. Tuition fees are listed for the complete 14-week semester. Payment plan available. Minimum of 8 students; maximum of 12 students.
