What do you find most rewarding about teaching and working with students?

I find it most rewarding to share in a student's excitement for reading. I love discussing books with them, introducing new literature, and helping them find stories that match their interests and reading styles. It's incredibly fulfilling to see their eyes light up when they discover a book they can't wait to read or talk about—it's those moments that remind me why I love what I do.

Are there any memorable or impactful moments in your teaching career that stand out to you?

My favorite memories are when I've been able to connect students with authors. There's something so special about watching students light up as they hear an author talk about their writing process or share their stories. Whether it's during a workshop or a Middle School assembly, those experiences always leave a lasting impression. I love seeing students realize that they, too, have a voice and a story worth telling.
