McDonogh Announces Fund to Support Tuition Assistance

Head of School David J. Farace ‘87 announced the establishment of a COVID-19 Impact Fund on Friday, May 8. The sole purpose of the fund is to provide tuition assistance to those families whose livelihoods have been significantly impacted by the coronavirus.

In announcing the fund, Farace said, “My heart is heavy knowing that many members of our extended McDonogh Family are experiencing physical, emotional, and financial hardship during the current health crisis. In this time of uncertainty, McDonogh is committed to supporting our families whose financial circumstances have changed due to the pandemic.”

Farace also shared that current parents, Marlene and Steven Wolchinsky, have generously offered to match every gift to the fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $60,000.

“I hope that the Wolchinsky’s gift will serve as an inspiration to others. Supporting our families whose financial circumstances have changed is paramount,” Farace said. “Above all, we want our students to be able to continue their educational journey at McDonogh.”
