Weekend of Fun and Games


The excitement of Spirit Week continues through Sunday, November 5. We hope you will don your orange and black and join the fun! Here's what you need to know:

Friday, November 3

  • Stuff-A-Bus: The entire McDonogh community is stuffing a bus with nonperishable food items that will be given to the Maryland Food Bank. A minibus will remain parked in front of the Edward St. John Student Center through Friday afternoon for contributions. The following are suggested donations: brown rice, canned peaches, canned tuna, toasted oat cereal, canned peas, beef stew, canned beans, and shelf-stable milk.
  • Spirit Parade and Pep Rally: The entire school community is encouraged to wear their McDonogh orange and black for the annual double, self-enveloping Spirit Parade. The parade will start around 1:30 p.m. near the chapel. Weather permitting, students, teachers, and coaches will march to the Rollins- Luetkemeyer Athletic Center for a pep rally. Parents are welcome to attend.

Saturday, November 4

102nd McDonogh vs. Gilman Football Game

  • 4:40 p.m. – Ceremony recognizing senior football players from the Class of 2018 in John McDonogh Stadium
  • 5:00 p.m. - Kickoff of 102nd McDonogh vs. Gilman football game in John McDonogh Stadium

Additional Information:

  • Please enter campus using Lamborn Road and follow the directions of security and parking attendants to the Eagle and Woods lots.
  • The School Store will have a booth selling the latest McDonogh apparel and spirit wear on the visitor's side by the concession stand.
  • The Alumni Tent will be behind Finney Building and feature treats, fun, and games starting at 4:00 p.m.
  • The McDonogh Parents Association (MPA) will have a bake sale in a tent behind Finney Building (next to the Alumni Tent). Proceeds will benefit After-Prom.
  • Some of Baltimore's most popular food trucks will be on hand, including: Kooper's Burger Wagon, Dizzy Cow (pizza), Beef on the Street, Greek on the Street, GrrChe, Gypsy Queen, Mexican on the Run, IcedGems, and Glazy Days.

Sunday, November 5

The fall sports season wraps up with IAAM and MIAA championship competition. Come and cheer on our Eagles.

  • Boys Soccer: Anne Arundel Community College at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.
  • Girls Soccer: Stevenson University at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $8. Please note, championship game times and locations are subject to change.
