McDonogh Authors at Baltimore Book Festival This Weekend

The Baltimore Book Festival is known for attracting hundreds of local, celebrity, and nationally-known authors for a weekend of readings, storytelling, book signings, and demonstrations. McDonogh School is known for its regular participation in this event, and this weekend is no exception!

Look for the McDonogh booth adjacent to the Baltimore Visitors Center and across from the Enoch Pratt Library's children's stage. The booth features a delightful and diverse collection of writings, illustrations, music, and maps by members of the McDonogh Family.

Alumni parent and illustrator Susan Detwiler will be at the festival on Saturday from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. with her books, including her newest title, The Sparrow and the Trees. Middle School teacher Steve Martel will be at the festival on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with his guitar and the newly-recorded CD by Steve Martel and Friends titled Here at Last. Upper School teacher Martin F. Schmidt, Jr. will be at the festival on Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. with his book, Maryland's Geology, and his popular topographical maps. McDonogh parent Donna Jackson Nakazawa will be on hand on Sunday from 12:00-3:00 p.m. with her latest publication, Childhood Disrupted. The McDonogh booth will also feature the books of alum Middleton Evans and Middle School teacher Lucy Martin.
