Young Actors Theatre to Perform "High School Musical"

The Young Actors Theatre in residence at McDonogh School will present "High School Musical" in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre, 8600 McDonogh Road, on Friday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 18 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 19 at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $8 and will be sold at the door.

A cast of 35 young actors from all over the Baltimore area will perform the Disney Channel hit, the story of Troy and Gabriella and their classmates' musical production. The direction team includes Amy Anderson, Roland Park Country School, drama director; Wanda Waller, Roland Park Country School, music director; Kennedy Waller, McDonogh School, production manager; and Sophie Snyder, a student at Temple University.

Founded as a community theater for Baltimore-area students, the Young Actors Theatre has been in existence at McDonogh School since 1995. Those accepted into the company receive instruction in all aspects of musical theater, including acting, vocal music, lighting, set design, costuming, and make-up. Admission to the five-week summer program is by audition only.
