Fourth Grade Poetry Slam
At the fourth grade poetry slam on Monday, May 11, students took turns stepping up to the mic to share work that ranged from playful to personal. Some wrote about their moms. Others focused on sports, food, and friendship. A few used humor to win over the crowd, while others addressed larger themes and social issues. Together, the readings offered a glimpse into the concerns, imaginations, and voices of a class learning not only how to write, but how to be heard.
