On the Dot On Display in the Tuttle Gallery
On the Dot, a collaborative art installation by sixth-grade students, is on display in the Tuttle Gallery through April 26. In the yearlong art project, inspired by the work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, students incorporated the themes and motifs found in the artist's work in their own paintings, paper mache, sculptures, and ceramics. A group of sixth graders also installed the show. On the opening day of the exhibit, Wednesday, March 29, the student artists had the opportunity to see their collaboration in a "gallery walk." Visitors are encouraged to put their own mark on the show by adding dots to the windows and walls of the gallery.
