Honoring Dr. King Through Service
To commemorate the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., lower schoolers participated in a virtual Morning of Service on Monday, January 18. This initiative honored Dr. King by offering Lower School students and their families an opportunity to be directly involved in meaningful service work for others.
Provided with six service opportunities to choose from, families completed their tasks at home and then brought the finished items to McDonogh for distribution to various organizations by a team of volunteers. From crafting cards to brighten the day of local senior citizens, to making blankets for children who are hospitalized, and making casseroles for Our Daily Bread, McDonogh’s lower schoolers made an impact on the community and continued the legacy of Dr. King.
