Kindness Week Ends on a Souper Note

Whether it is was prekindergartners greeting students as they arrived in the morning with hugs, high-fives, and big smiles or the first grade baking cookies as a thank you to faculty and staff, the Lower School spent the week of January 27-31 spreading kindness all over campus.

With the fourth grade as their leaders, the entire lower school participated in the "Great Kindness Challenge," a program created by Kids for Peace to encourage children to choose kindness. Through small acts, lower schoolers learned the power of kindness and also spread the message that kindness is a strength to our middle and upper schoolers as well.

To cap the week of kind acts, a school-wide "Souper Kind" canned food drive was held on Monday, February 3 and Tuesday, February 4th. A McDonogh minibus was parked by the St. John loop and stuffed with dry goods that will be donated to the food pantry at St. Gregory in Sandtown-Winchester.
