Freezin' Eagles Take the Polar Bear Plunge

No one got "cold feet" as 44 Upper Schoolers, playfuly dubbed the Freezin' Eagles, headed to Sandy Point State Park to participate in the 2020 Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge on Thursday, January 23.

Lily Ates '21 and Reagan Armstrong '21 organized the outing and encouraged others students to participate. Lily and Reagan are also leaders of McDonogh's Special Olympics Club, who volunteer their time to work with Special Olympic Athletes throughout the year. Together students raised $2,714 which will help support the 7,782 Special Olympics Maryland athletes who train and compete free of charge throughout the state year-round.
