Black Lives Matter

On Wednesday, June 11, over 100 upper schoolers, faculty, and staff socially-distanced in locations across campus to protest acts of racism and hate that plague our society. Organized by the Upper School Sankofa Club with support from D4M, the peaceful demonstrations began with everyone kneeling in silence for 8 minutes and 46 seconds as a reminder of the racial injustice suffered by George Floyd. Then, Delaney Yarborough ’22 delivered a personal and heartfelt spoken word poem.

We educate and encourage our students to use their voices and actions to do "the greatest possible amount of good" in the world, and we stand in solidarity with them, as together we work to denounce racism and seek a more just world.
