Sankofa Club Welcomes Alumni
McDonogh's Sankofa Club, formerly the Black Awareness Club, and the Alumni Office co-hosted a dinner for students and alumni guests on Thursday, April 28, in the Mullan Board Room. Student members provided an update on their initiatives and goals, and opportunities for alumni involvement were shared. A candid and insightful question and answer session followed, allowing students the chance to discuss current challenges, learn about the experiences of black alumni during their time at McDonogh, and brainstorm ways of continuing to build support and deepen their sense of community. Sankofa comes from the language of Ghana and means you must reach back to reclaim that which is lost in order to move forward.
