7th and 8th Grade Orators Impress Audience
The 11 finalists in the annual Seventh and Eighth Grade Oratory program held on Friday, May 20 in the Horn Theatre addressed the Middle School audience with the clarity, poise, and expression of a professional. Seventh graders Maycie B., Catherine C., Cassidy M., Jacob R., Avinash T., and Natalie S. spoke about a significant moment in their lives, painting a picture with their words, and thus immersing the listener in the orator’s experience. The eighth grade speakers Kamila R., Jacob R., Caitlin H., Cody I., and Joe R. either described experiences that gave them insight into themselves and their lives or made persuasive arguments about topics of personal importance. The event was hosted by emcees Ellye A. ‘21 and Caroline B. ’20.
