During the week of May 5, our school community came together to shine a spotlight on the importance of mental well-being during Children’s Mental Health Matters Week. Through creativity, conversation, and connection, students explored strategies for caring for themselves and supporting one another.
In Middle School, students hosted a Wellness Fair where they shared research and resources on topics ranging from physical fitness to managing stress to the use of AI in schools. The fair offered an inspiring look into how young people understand and advocate for their own wellbeing. Faculty and classmates moved from booth to booth, asking questions, engaging in discussions, and supporting one another in the spirit of learning and care.
Meanwhile, in Lower School, students explored daily themes like “Mindful Monday” and “Talk it Out Tuesday,” engaging in calming Morning Meeting routines (some in the woods!), and taking mental health breaks filled with sidewalk chalk, music, bubbles, and more. These activities are designed to encourage positivity, expression, and joy—reminding students that mental wellness can be nurtured in both big and small ways.
