What do you find most rewarding about teaching?

Building relationships with students is the most rewarding part of teaching. Seeing students grow and having a different relationship with them over time is special.

Are there any memorable moments in your teaching career?

Helping a student get evaluated for a learning disability truly was one of the most impactful points in my teaching career.

How do you engage students in learning?

I create a welcoming and fun classroom environment, hold students accountable, and use math to build relationships and develop skills.

What do you hope students take away from your class?

I hope they see me as a role model, remember the values and skills learned, and understand the importance of respect and dealing with adversity.

What are your interests outside of teaching?

I enjoy sports, playing golf and tennis, surfing, learning French, reading, and cooking.

What are some of your favorite books, movies, or quotes?

The movie Miracle is super inspirational. I love how they took a group of men from all different backgrounds and accomplished what was believed to be impossible.

I love the quote from Rocky about resilience: "It's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward."

How do you recharge outside the classroom?

I enjoy traveling and exploring new places.

What is your favorite place on campus and why?

Childs Memorial Terrace is my favorite spot on campus. It is truly beautiful, and it brings the entire school community together. Of course, I also love the baseball field. I believe it is one of the best in the area.
