While thousands of miles may separate the students in Gabriela Burns’ Honors Spanish III class and the year IV students at Colegio Alemán in Argentina, that did not stop them from working together to build a website and long-distance friendships. Throughout the fall semester, students from the two schools had multiple meetings over Zoom, where they practiced speaking each other’s languages, learned about each other’s schools, and explored each other’s cultures.
Together, the students built a website to showcase their work and what they learned from each other. McDonogh students handled all of the portions of the site that were in Spanish, while all the English sections were created by the students at Colegio Alemán. Explore the website here and get to know the students and their schools.
