Substitute Teacher - Lower School
Head of Middle School
McDonogh seeks a dynamic and visionary Head of Middle School to join the school leadership team in July of 2026 and lead the School’s vibrant division into its next chapter of excellence. This is an opportunity to shape the middle school experience for a generation of students: to build upon a strong foundation while reimagining what’s possible during these transformative years.

Annual compensation will be offered in the range of $125,000-$170,000. Individual offers will be specific and based on education, experience, and benchmarking parameters.

Chief Philanthropy Officer
McDonogh seeks a seasoned and mission-driven leader to serve as its next Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO). A successful candidate will be a collaborative, strategic, and results-oriented advancement leader. The CPO will oversee a comprehensive, integrated advancement program encompassing development, advancement services, alumni engagement, and stewardship. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Head of School, the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends to expand philanthropic support for McDonogh’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
With responsibility for major and planned giving, annual giving, campaigns, and alumni and parent engagement, the CPO will be a key driver of the School’s next phase of growth and impact. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated success as a strategic and relational fundraiser, particularly in securing major gifts and leading campaigns. Equally important will be the ability to build strong relationships across constituencies, inspire trust and enthusiasm, and articulate McDonogh’s mission with clarity and distinction.

General Summary

Essential Functions
- Enforce a classroom atmosphere that promotes joyful learning and an inclusive, welcoming, purposeful school tone and culture.
- Supervise and support students in the daily lessons and activities as provided by the Lead Teacher.
- Use technology effectively to enhance and extend instruction.
- Demonstrate professional standards of presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion.
- Perform non-teaching duties (lunch duty, recess supervision, etc.) in order to support and assist students throughout the day.
Recommended Employment Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required.

- A positive disposition and ability to function within a highly motivated and fast paced team
- Ability to collaborate with members of the School community
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with adults and students
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to successfully work with and within a culturally and academically diverse student body, staff, and community
- Academic teaching experience, preferred
- Experience with, and love of, working with children

Working Conditions
Climbing stairs to various locations on campus. Lifting and carrying of equipment is not typical, but may be required on rare occasions. Lifting up to 25 pounds. Reaching, grasping. Sitting. Standing. Stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Talking, hearing, tasting or smelling. Walking around campus.
