Prefirsters turned a science project into a holiday celebration for the residents of Brightwood Retirement Community yesterday. Wearing their best holiday smiles, the children delivered amaryllis plants they had grown, recited poetry, and sang to the seniors. After performing, the children served cookies and drinks to their new Brightwood friends and shared stories. They gave gifts they made in science class--plant books and holiday cards--along with pinecone crafts and poinsettia plants. Said science teacher Peggy Moag, "It was an amazing day. Several residents had tears of joy. I was so proud of the children!"
