Marshmallow and Linguine Tower Stands Tall

During Engineering Week, February 16-20, the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering invited area middle schoolers to celebrate by entering a contest to build the tallest tower, using a one pound box of linguine and two bags of marshmallows. Several groups of McDonogh students accepted the challenge and the eighth grade foursome of Andrea B., Elizabeth P., Harris R., and Claire S. tied for first place with a team from Bryn Mawr. The winning tower was 140 cm.
