43 Eagles Take the Plunge for the Special Olympics

Braving cold temperatures and the threat of rain, 43 Upper Schoolers, dubbed the Freezin' Eagles, headed to Sandy Point State Park to participate in the 2019 Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge on Thursday, January 24.

Proceeds from the event support the 7,782 Special Olympics Maryland athletes who train and compete free of charge throughout the state year-round. The group was organized by the leaders of McDonogh's Special Olympics Club, who volunteer their time to work with Special Olympic Athletes throughout the year. They raised $2,200 for the cause.
