Student Athletes Awarded, Coaches Honored
McDonogh student-athletes were recognized for sportsmanship, involvement, leadership, and achievement in interscholastic sports at the Upper School Athletic Awards evening on Monday, June 5. Athletic Director Mickey Deegan noted, “Our seniors have given so much of themselves on the playing fields, courts, golf courses, diamonds, track, and pool deck. We played over 658 contests and won 411! Student participation in the Upper School was extremely high at 66% for two or more sports.” Retiring coaches Andy Gill, Wright Abbot, and Laddie Levy were honored for their longtime service and dedication. At Commencement, 18 seniors will receive Golden Eagle Awards for participating in sports every season of their Upper School careers.
