Assistant/Associate Director of Upper School College Counseling

The Assistant/Associate Director assumes overall responsibility for working with their assigned students and their parents to guide them through the college search and application process. Candidates must be strong writers, good listeners, detail and deadline-oriented, and excited about working collaboratively with colleagues and students. As a member of an independent school with a five-day boarding community, the Assistant/Associate Director will also be involved in other aspects of school life.

Associate Head of Lower School

The Associate Head of the Lower School for prekindergarten through first grade supports the administrative functions of the lower school division. In collaboration with the Head of the Lower School, the Associate Head of the Lower School works with faculty members, families, and students and in partnership with the Associate Head of the Lower School for grades two through four.

Middle School Dance Teacher

McDonogh School is in search of a Middle School Dance Teacher with a passion for creating dynamic and student-centered educational experiences. A strong candidate possesses the ability to utilize a wide range of artistic media in order to develop students’ creative confidence, curiosity, and technical ability. It is essential that they possess a breadth of artistic and educational experience in addition to a deep understanding of their personal specialty. The candidate must be comfortable working in a high-energy and fast-paced environment within which the facilitation and management of numerous student projects occur simultaneously. Additionally, the applicant needs to be willing and excited to work with a team that embraces integrated educational practices for the advancement of an ever-evolving art program.

Middle School Math Teacher

An ideal full-time Middle School Mathematics teacher is dynamic, has the ability to teach all levels of mathematics courses through Algebra II, and is interested in developing strong problem-solving and communication competencies in students. The teacher will work with our Middle School students in grades 5 through 8.

Upper School Computer Science Teacher

An ideal Upper School Computer Science teacher has the ability to teach both foundational and advanced computer science courses and emphasizes the development of strong problem-solving and communication skills within the curriculum. As technology is ever-changing, it's important that the candidate is willing to design and implement curriculum that stays current and relevant. The current computer science curriculum consists of a three-year course progression. The hired teacher will work closely with the other instructor(s) teaching computer science courses, be a fully participating member of the science department, and collaborate on ways to incorporate computer science principles into other coursework.

Upper School Science Teacher (Physics)

McDonogh School is looking for a dynamic educator that has the ability to teach various levels of Physics, including ninth-grade Physics classes. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a genuine interest in STEM, embrace project-based learning, and excel in teaching 21st century skills. Additionally, there is the possibility that the responsibilities of this role may extend to teaching in the broader science department, covering subjects such as engineering, biology, chemistry, or other related disciplines.

Head Camp Counselor- Summer

McDonogh Summer Camp takes place at the McDonogh School, a nondenominational, coeducational, college preparatory school located on 800 pastoral acres in suburban Owings Mills, MD. McDonogh Summer Camp serves over 2,500 campers each year through a wide variety of camp offerings (academic, arts, athletic). The Head Counselor serves as an integral part of the McDonogh Summer Camp team, working closely with Camp Directors and the Director of Summer Camps to manage camp staff and camp activities.

Maintenance

The Maintenance worker performs duties to ensure the proper maintenance, repair, and renovation of the facilites, infrastructure, and utility systems of the school.

Substitute Nurse

The School Nurse provide health services to the McDonogh School community, including first aid treatment, and on-site triage and treatment for injuries and and mild to acute sicknesses. The School Nurse also provides support to students and other community members with chronic illnesses.

Transportation-Bus Driver

The Bus Driver is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the children, staff, and volunteers during bus transportation to and from the school and on field trips. McDonogh School offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package.
