Students Helping Students
The McDonogh Writing Center, located in the Kiplinger Library, has become a welcome addition to students in the Upper School. Staffed by 27 student advisors, the Writing Center's mission is to empower students in the writing process so that they can take ownership of their work. Student advisors come from the senior and junior classes and are trained monthly. They provide reflective listening, writing strategies, and encouragement to their student clients. The Writing Center has already served more than 115 individual students and has held over 160 conferences so far this year. With final papers due and Oratory ahead, it doesn't appear that the pace to sign up for time in the Writing Center will be slowing down any time soon.
