R-L Leaders Bond, Bike, Kayak, and Plan
In mid-July, McDonogh’s 2022-23 Rollins-Luetkemeyer (R-L) Leaders spent several days in Western Maryland hiking, biking, kayaking, bonding, and planning for the year ahead. During the annual retreat, the R-Ls and special guests—Head of School Dave Farace and Head of Upper School Merritt Livermore—enjoyed a variety of activities, including a 10-mile tour on quad bikes along the railroad tracks that run beside the iconic Great Allegheny Passage trail and kayaking in the Savage River Reservoir. Evenings were spent immersed in brainstorming, planning sessions, and enjoying smores around the campfire.
