The Force of the Holiday Spirit is Strong
Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia gathered to celebrate the holiday season on Friday, December 10 with a festive crowd in the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Athletic Center, but Darth Vader had stolen the Holiday Spirit! Knowing that the oldest, wisest Jedi would have the answer, Luke and Leia reached out to Yoda for guidance. A lightsaber battle of good vs. evil ensued, with Vader leaving in defeat as the crowd cheered. The Holiday Spirit had been scattered in the fight but just as Luke and Leia thought all hope was lost, Baby Yoda arrived with a small glittering gift. Joyful performances by nine of McDonogh’s instrumental, dance, and choral groups illustrated Luke's realization that the Holiday Spirit cannot be stolen as it lives in our hearts.
