Seniors and Juniors Square Off in Powder Puff Game
Seniors and juniors stormed John McDonogh Stadium during Community on Thursday, November 14 to play the annual Powder Puff football game. Normally played the night before the McDonogh Gilman game, the rivalry had to be delayed this year due to weather but that didn't lead to a drop in intensity on the field. With their coaches yelling in plays from the sidelines, the seniors and juniors went back and forth in a close contest that included several touchdown passes, each followed by an exuberant team celebration. Both teams played lock down defense in overtime, with the juniors snagging an interception and the seniors making a goal line stand, causing the game to end in a tie.
