Cardboat Boat Race (Students)

The Upper School's annual Cardboard Boat Race will be held on Friday, May 27 following the McDonogh's Capital Campaign Kick-off. These images are the design models for the final entries.

Track Championships (Athletics)

McDonogh girls won the IAAM track championship for the second straight year, while the boys came in second in the MIAA by a slim 3.5 point margin. Both teams competed May 14 at Calvert Hall.

MIAA Lax Champs (Athletics)

Competing against tenacious Boys' Latin, the boys' varsity lacrosse team won the Maryland Independent Athletic Association A conference championship on May 19 at Homewood Field.

Author Elisa Carbone (Students)

Elisa Carbone, author of Stealing Freedom and Storm Warriors, spoke to fourth graders on April 20 about what was involved in researching and writing these two historical fictions that they had read earlier this year. She also answered students' questions about details from the two books as well as how she had become a published writer. The activity concluded with a book signing by the author.

Family Fun Night (Students)

Lower School families enjoyed the western theme of this year's Family Fun Night festivities, held April 15.

First Grade Play 2005 (Students)

McDonogh School’s budding first- grade actors blossomed onstage in their colorful production, “How Does Your Garden Grow?” on April 13 and 14.

Clay Day (Students)

On March 4, fourth and seventh graders at McDonogh participated in Clay Day, a statewide event held in conjunction with the overall Tour de Clay celebration.

Clay Workshop (Students)

On March 17, world-renowned artists Ampofo Anti and Lawson Oyekan conducted a clay workshop for McDonogh Upper School students.

Biography Day (Students)

During their annual American Biography Day celebration, held March 2, McDonogh third graders assumed the identities of famous Americans who have shaped the world as we know it today. Their on-stage presentations followed weeks of research, writing and memorization of their speeches.

2005 IAAM Swimming Champs (Athletics)

The girls' swim team won the IAAM Swimming Championship at the UMBC Aquatic Center yesterday by 100 points!

Baltimore Alumni Gathering (Alumni)

Nearly 50 Baltimore-area alumni gathered for lunch at the Centre Club downtown on Friday, December 3. The alumni office sponsored the gathering, which included Co-Director of College Counseling Alice Margraff as the featured speaker.

First-graders spent the day with natural resource ecologist John Fishback learning about Maryland area Native Americans.

2004 MIAA Soccer Champs (Athletics)

The varsity boys' soccer team won the MIAA A Conference soccer championship on November 3, defeating Calvert Hall, 3-0.

89th McDonogh-Gilman Game (Athletics)

The 89th annual meeting of the McDonogh-Gilman football teams ended in disappointment for the Eagles. McDonogh led most of the game and was in contention until the clock ran out with Gilman ahead, 28-24. Eagle fans demonstrated fantastic school spirit just the same.
