The Lower School will be holding a morning of service in honor of MLK. About 150 people will come together to work on a variety of projects to help our community.

Volunteers will be making mint soap and packaging it in handmade burlap sachets for Meals on Wheels http://www.mealsonwheelsmd.org/ with Sharon Hood and Cortney Gonzalez (family of Daniel '25, Joshua '22, Brooke '20 and Drew '18)

Volunteers will be making 25-30 pans of lasagna. If interested, families may help deliver them to elderly residents at St. Mary's Roland View Towers in Baltimore. This activity will be done with Connie McGrain and Nancy Fleury

The ground beef, spices, and aluminum pans will be purchased ahead of time. We ask that you bring the remaining ingredients for the lasagna. Each family will be responsible for two or three pans of lasagna. Please see the list below for the ingredients. If you are participating in this activity, it is not necessary to send in a $10 donation.

Please bring the following ingredients to make three pans of lasagna:
7-1/2 cups mozzarella cheese
3 containers (15 oz.) ricotta cheese
1½ cups grated parmesan cheese
3 eggs
3 jars (24 oz.) spaghetti sauce
36 lasagna noodles, uncooked (the kind that do NOT need boiling)

Volunteers will be assembling kits in tote bags for residents. These bags will be decorated. This activity will be done with Catriona Schmidt and Rebecca Nicholaus

Volunteers will make small blankets for cages at the ASPCA. After, participants are invited to go to the center to deliver the blankets. This activity will be done with with Laya Neelakandan (class 2020), and Barbara Robins

Volunteers will be assembling and decorating 40 activity bags for children at the Ronald McDonald House. This activity will be done with MaryCatherine Irving and Beth Rausch

Volunteers will make sandwiches for Corpus Christi's soup kitchen in Baltimore. This activity will be done with the Chen family(Phoenix 2027 and Cypress 2024) and Malika Delancey.

Volunteers will make cards for children in hospitals and active service members. This activity will be done with Chevee Crafton and Adrienne McDonald.

Volunteers will create art work to hang at Stella Maris Hospice. This activity will be done with Margaret Bitz and Argie O'Shea
