Lower School Parent Calendar : An entire year of events is already posted, and the calendar is updated regularly. You’ll see when blazers, special dress, and more are needed. This is your primary source when checking for Lower School dates; it often includes specific Lower School events and information that may not appear on the school’s Master Calendar.
Lower School Flyer: This is the place for Lower School news. It’s a fun and informative page that will be emailed to you monthly. It’s in addition to Parent News, a school-wide newsletter sent out every other Tuesday by McDonogh’s communications office. Newsletters are archived on My Message Center, accessed from your personal page.
Online Dismissal: Please enter a daily dismissal order for your child (bus, carpool, etc.), or you may choose to enter a standing order (e.g. soccer on Tuesday, October 9-November 6). Access the online dismissal system from your personal page. It’s easy to fill in the blanks and click on the options. The system is open until 2 p.m. daily. After that, it is blocked to parents. If there is an unavoidable late change or your computer is unavailable, call Carol Carroll at 410-581-4729. The system generates a daily dismissal list that goes to teachers, bus drivers, and administrators. If your plan is not on it, you’ll be receiving a phone call!
Eblasts: Periodically, Lower School parents may receive eblasts from the Head of Lower School, Noreen Lidston. Such eblasts usually contain urgent, timely information. They are quick reads for your immediate attention.
Lower School Report Cards: Lower School Report Cards – A detailed report of your child’s progress will be emailed to you in November, March, and June.
Online Conference Schedules: After report cards are sent in November and March, Lower School holds Parent-Teacher Conference Days. One month prior, conference schedules will open online allowing you to book an appointment with your child’s teacher(s). From your personal page, click on Schedule Conferences, beside your child’s photo.
Teacher Websites: Our teachers have their own websites which are used to share classroom news, events, and assignments. You will hear more about this at Back-to-School Night.
Is there even more online from McDonogh? Yes! (Check out the Lower School blog!) Communication with parents is an important priority, and technology helps us accomplish this better than ever. We’ll be in touch!
