Our prekindergarten program offers a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum designed to stimulate and challenge our youngest students as they begin their journey as lifelong learners. In a warm and nurturing atmosphere, students experience creative, purposeful, and collaborative opportunities which inspire curiosity and instill a love of learning. Our young explorers develop social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills in an environment rich in opportunities for exploration. Discovery-based learning builds upon individual strengths and talents to nurture the unique potential of each learner while promoting a positive community within a diverse and respectful classroom. When education is an adventure, the joy of learning begins and students develop the skills and confidence needed for a strong foundation for kindergarten and beyond!

In addition to its emphasis on social and emotional development, our prekindergarten program offers our students instruction in language, literacy, math, and numeracy. The curriculum also includes special subjects such as Chinese, art, science, engineering, library, and music/creative movement. These classes are taught by special subject teachers in both the homerooms of the Esther Ann Brown Adler Wing of Dudley Hall and in locations outside the regular classroom.
