Welcome to McDonogh
When describing McDonogh, each member of our family has a unique story to tell. Defined in the most general terms, we are a coeducational, K-12 day school offering five-day boarding for grades 9-12. Our campus is well-equipped and our faculty committed to building positive, productive relationships with students.
But our pride in McDonogh is shaped less by its external qualities than by the school's core values: regard for the individual, respect for the life of the mind, and emphasis on character. The school's founder, John McDonogh, wrote in his Rules for Living that you should "study in the course of your life to do the greatest possible amount of good."
This remains our guiding principle. We share parents' pride as they witness their children's journey to adulthood, nurtured and sustained with a solid foundation in the Lower School, shaped and strengthened in the Middle School, and prepared through rigorous academic experiences in the Upper School for college and beyond.
The greatest gift a parent can offer a child is the chance to discover his or her personal potential. We are proud of the opportunities we can provide along the way.
